Small Italian restaurant with a good menu and excellent service. Great carbonara and gnocchi pesto.
This used to be my favorite place to eat lunch when I worked at Sony. Their daily chicken special was always moist and delicious. The two owners were great also - really took pride in their business (as they should) and care about their customers.
This place is awesome, the food is really good. Recommended!
The food is awesome!!!!
Amazing staff. A much better alternative than ugo if searching for Italian in culver.
Lovely service, great food. Would recommend if you're downtown for lunch.
Consistently good food
The Gorgonzola Gnocchi is absolutely to die for. The gnocchi is so fluffy, pillowy, and soft. 10/10 would recommend. You ever see that scene in Ratatouille, when the critic eats a bite of ratatouille, and he sees his mother making it because it's reminiscent and amazing. This gnocchi evokes the very same energy.
I celebrated my graduation last night in this fine place. I am glad to say that we had a fabulous evening and the restaurant was clearly one of the reasons for the outstanding gathering. The team cooperated in a lovely style, the cooking was appetizing and my friends were very overjoyed. We shall definitely come back again for more celebrations. thanks very much.
Though I’ve lived in the area for many years I never heard of Novocento until a friend looking for a quiet restaurant suggested it.Happy surprise. Relatively quiet. Could understand conversation. Of note. Lots of the conversation was about how delicious the food was. I’m an “eater” but every one else was a “foodie” and gourmet cook. Best Spaghetti Carbonara ever, anywhere.10 Stars Michael
Was in the mood for Italian in downtown Culver City and this place looked like it'd be decent. The place has a cozy, lived-in feel and our waitress was very nice. I got the pasta carbonara and the bf had penne in vodka sauce. Both were good, if not great. The complimentary bread was also OK--a little on the dry side. We had a couple of glasses of wine with our meal and it didn't break the bank. Overall we were satisfied and would come back.
Nice place for some Italian comfort food. The Fettuccini Alfredo was surprisingly light.
The food was GREAT but the hostess was not the greatest. I'll return for the food but will definitely hope that she's not on shift. My friends on the other hand said that they won't go back because of her. But the Food is amazing! If you can ignore her, go and enjoy your meal.
This place is really tasty, great service too! I had the pesto gnocchi, it was delicious.
Fantastic food!
Food was really good. I recommend the Tiramisu here.
Shared appetizer and meal. Brought good size portions for both. Great food and atmosphere. Great server!. Satisfied.
beat pasta ever mist try it
Lovely small and serving tasty pasta. Great staff.
It's nice, cozy, quiet and the food is really good.
Good food. Fair atmosphere. Good service. Place was too dark. Wine list was weak.
I had the ravioli and it was superb. The best quality pasta I have been served in America (I'm not local!). The serving was not excessive but more than enough for me, I boxed about a third of it. The sauce was lovely. The staff were friendly and efficient and the bread was good. The dipping oil was heavily herbed with a pleasant and interesting flavour. The decor is terracotta coloured, representing Italian ruins. It's quite pleasant and certainly not intrusive. The lighting is adequate but not glaring. The wine list looked good but I wasn't drinking that night.I will make a point of dining there again.
Intimate setting. Delicious Italian food. Generous portions. Couldn't ask for more.
A family owned restaurant, with a warm atmosphere and one of the best Seafood Pastas dishes around! They also provide indoor as well as outdoor seating, which always makes for great people watching!
Quite good pasta but the servings are a little large. The salad was nice - great they have a vegetarian Caesar salad - but the leaves were a little wilted.
Novacento Isa wonderful, small Italian restaurant. They have a great variety of pasta and full dishes and the authenticity and quality is outstanding. This is a great value on Main Street in Culver City.
Tried this place for the first time for some carbo loading leading up to the LA marathon. What a treat! This is a quaint little spot that would be great for a date night. The service was fantastic. The food was delicious. The atmosphere was authentic. Definitely would recommend this spot. With or without the date.
I often go here for lunch but have yet to have a chance to come by for dinner so this review is for lunch only.Hands down some of the best Italian in town. Every dish I've ordered, and I've had just about everything, is oozing with love and pure bliss. I have yet to eat something here that I didn't immediately wish I had ordered 2 dishes of. If you are in the area, you deserve to be treated to some of the best pasta around.
Loved the homemade bread and pasta!
Wouldn't serve appetizers whilst we waited for other company. Appetizer (bruschetta and minestrone) we're disappointing. Entrees we're good though. Not enough to make me ever go back.
Great food. We had the Ceasar salad, Brushetta, and Ravioli. A must if you're in Culver City.
I've tried four separate dishes from this place and have been disappointed every time. Not the place for me.
Service was nice. Food is wayyy overpriced. I personally didn't like my dish (pasta seemed a little flavorless) but, my date liked his!
Very good food, and excellent service. The mussel appetizer I had was delicious, though I could tell that the mussels were frozen before cooking. The salmon steak was served with a delicious zesty tomato lemon sauce on the side, while the salmon flaked apart under the fork, and in my mouth.
Good location good food
Great little gem.Excellent service and great food. Cannot go wrong.
The mussels were supposed to come in a garlic butter sauce. They came in a butter sauce. There was garlic, but in chunks that had never touched the sauce. Likely shaved on top. The mussels were also just laying on top, and therefore tasted plain. The vegetable fettuccini tasted like plain tomato paste. I sent it back for chicke fettuccini alfredo. That was basically buttered noodles. I gave up. The fettuchini bolognese (my partner's dish) was better, only because of the meat. Do they put herbs or spices in anything? Ambiance was good though.
Very tasty food and great service! I will return.
Nice and quite. I like its ambience
The BEST ITALIAN RESTAURANT I ever bean.
Very deliciousGreat serviceRavioli is home madeMy best dish is lemon caper chicken
I just ordered takeout and had ordered there once before. It was delicious! I ordered the Chicken Marsala and ordered the same this time. However, most of the chicken this time was hard as a rock! I have no idea, whether it wasn't thawed enough, or overcooked. I've noticed this happens with these little Italian restaurants as it's happened before, the first time is amazing but the next time the chicken is hard as a rock. I did notice no one was in the restaurant and I don't know if it's because there are no customers so they are not as prepared, but this is very disappointing.
I think this place is an underrated Italian restaurant. Their linguini Pescatore is always cooked right. Usually the fish and mussels in this dish is overcooked at other places. Everything is very well seasoned and delicious yet it's never as busy as Ugo, which sucks btw. Walk one more block to Novecento and you'll tase much better Italian than Ugo.
Great Italian food prepared and served by native Italians. Highly recommended.
Always well prepared classic Italian served in a quiet friendly atmosphere. Half orders of pasta at lunch are more than enough to satisfy . Excellent ravioli and excellent Carbonara . Delicious home made bread to lather on the house olive oil and herb dip served with every meal . I have been a regular at lunch for over a decade . Try it . You'll like it!!
One of our favorite place to eat in downtown culver. I always get the chicken parmigiana and it’s SO good. The owner is so nice too. Highly recommend!
Very old school, hole in the wall place ... a nice neighborhood hangout... nice pastas ... willing to make vegan or vegetarian meals when possible ... nice wine options. Kind of uneven service.
Dont go! Overpriced basic italian food. Alfredo was very bland, arrabiata was not spicy and the meatballs tasted like frozen store bought meatballs. I dont like to write bad reviews, but I do need to be honest about the quality of food to warn others. Service was good at least.
This spot clearly knows how to please their customers. Regularly with a super friendly demeanor. The food is fairly priced, constantly delicious and neat.
Great tasty homemade pastas, excellent service. Desserts are great too!
